I’ve always loved fashion illustrators and dreamed of owning a home laden with their drawings. But now that my apartment is half male, I’m resigned to looking at their images on Instagram.
There are hundreds of talented artists, and social media has given them such a great platform to showcase their work. As much as I would love to share them all, I don’t have the time, so here are my top 10.
The “It” illustrator of the moment. Ms. Hess recently launched her New York travel guide here in Dubai (with what only can be described as an afternoon of chic loveliness at The Fairmont, The Palm) and has an array of products available to buy on her website. Maybe I can sneak a few plates into the cupboards.
Her images have a more casual vibe compared to Evelyn’s and Megan’s but are equally as beautiful. Meagan is for the less girly of us.
Her bio line reads “I draw pretty things for pretty people.” And she isn’t lying. Dallas has made illustrations for the likes of Carolina Herrera, Christian Louboutin and Victoria’s Secret. Oh, and she has amazing style.
Katie’s drawings are just beyond beautiful. There is no other way to describe them. Her style is soft watercolors mixed with glitter and crystals and institutions like Harper’s Bazaar and Cartier are loving her.
This anonymous “self-taught” artist is new to the scene, but quickly drawing attention for his or her unconventional and moody style. Gucci is already a fan, and I’m pretty sure we’re going to see more of these drawings in the near future.
Not only are Holly’s pictures super girly and available on Etsy, they often feature the same group of friends in different scenarios, including the gym. Her girls also have wardrobes to die for. I don’t think I’ve ever been so jealous of a drawing.
Spent an entire day with @tmahn.neimanmarcus as she curated outfits to update my wardrobe for #NYFW. Here's a sketch of some of my favorites (designers are tagged). If you're in Boston, be sure swing by @neimanmarcus and see her the next time your closest needs an update! #fashionsketch #fashionillustration #fashionillustrator #boston #bostonblogger #bostonillustrator #copic #copicmarkers #copicart #hnicholsillustration #neimanmarcus #fashionweek #NMBoston
Yes, she is Megan’s sister. Yes, she is equally as talented. And yes, her client list is just as impressive; think Cartier, Louis Vuitton and Elie Saab. This is clearly a very gifted family.
Kelly’s drawings have a more lifelike feel to them as they have a lot of facial details. Her drawings are a lot simpler and delicate than the previous artists and just as beautiful. Her work has been used by Vogue, Valentino and Armani.
I'm SO excited to finally reveal my collaboration with the luxurious @GrandHyattMelbourne and incredible Australian designer @ConIlio.Official! Taking Hyatt to HyFashion this Spring with billowing pink couture and the beautiful architecture of Collins St; Melbourne's premiere shopping district! See all of the images and info on my blog now.
